Comments and @-mentions on a task
EVERYONEUpdated 23 Sep 2026·2 min read
Comments are where the back-and-forth about a task happens: questions, updates and decisions, kept with the task instead of in a separate chat.
Notes vs. comments
Notes is a single text field describing the task, editable by anyone who can edit it. Comments is a running conversation at the bottom of the detail panel, open to anyone who can see the event, even after it's locked.
@-mentioning someone
In a comment, type @ followed by a name and pick the person from the list. They'll see the comment flagged as a mention in the places below.
Finding comments and mentions later
- The bell in the top bar opens Recent updates, the newest comments on events you can see, with mentions labeled. Click one to jump to the task.
- The Dashboard's Recent comments card shows mentions of you by default, or switch it to all comments.
- Owners and admins see new mentions from the past week in Needs attention.
