Reassign a task by hand
Automatic assignment gets most tasks to the right person, but an owner or admin can reassign any task by hand at any time.
How to reassign
Open the task's detail panel with the arrow at the end of its row, and change Primary owner. The change takes effect immediately. To reassign many tasks at once, use Bulk edit.
Hand edits vs. the skill rule
A hand reassignment only affects that one task. It doesn't change how the next task in that bucket gets assigned. If a whole bucket keeps landing on the wrong person, fix the skill on the Team page, or the bucket's default owner in Settings → Task buckets, instead of reassigning tasks one at a time.
Secondary owners
Every task can also have a secondary owner, a backup named on the task without taking over responsibility. It's filled in automatically when the task's bucket has a default secondary owner, and you can set or change it from the same panel. The event's My Tasks toggle includes tasks where you're secondary, but your My Tasks page and Dashboard count only tasks where you're the primary owner.
