Bulk edit many tasks at once

OWNER · ADMINUpdated 23 Sep 2026·4 min read

When twenty tasks all need the same change — a pushed-back due date, a reassignment after someone leaves the team — Bulk edit does it in one pass instead of twenty.

Turning it on

Owners and admins open the Tools menu above an event's task list and choose Bulk edit. Each row's arrow becomes a checkbox, and a Bulk edit panel opens beside the list. Bulk edit isn't available on a locked event unless you're its owner or the organization owner.

Selecting tasks

1
Check individual rows
Click as many task rows as you want. A select-all checkbox in the desktop table header selects everything currently visible under your active filters.
2
Parents and subtasks
Checking a parent task automatically checks all of its subtasks with it. Checking a subtask on its own only selects that one task.

Choosing what to change

Each field in the Bulk edit panel — Status, Primary owner, Secondary owner, Bucket, Start date, Due date — has its own checkbox. Only the fields you check get applied, so you can change just the due date across twenty tasks without touching who's assigned to any of them.

Parent tasks keep their derived dates. A task that has subtasks of its own keeps its automatically-calculated start and due dates and is skipped if you bulk-set dates — every other field you chose still applies to it.

Applying or deleting

Click Update N tasks to apply your checked fields to every selected task. Click Delete N tasks to remove everything selected in one go — you'll confirm first, and deleting a parent task takes its subtasks with it even if you didn't check them individually. This can't be undone. Click Done (or the Bulk edit toggle again) to exit without losing your place.
