Turn event options on and off
Every event has an Event Options card — first on the New Event wizard, and again on the event's Settings page afterward, so it stays editable for the life of the event. It has two very different kinds of switches, and it's worth knowing which is which before you flip anything off.
Two kinds of switches
Three switches are fixed and appear on every event: RSVP tracking, Ticket sales, and Sponsorship pipeline. Below a divider, template-specific switches appear only if the event's template defines its own extra options — Auction, Childcare, Raffle, and so on.
The three fixed switches
RSVP tracking turns on the RSVP tab; Ticket sales turns on the Tickets tab; Sponsorship pipeline turns on the Sponsors tab. These are simple and safe to flip — turning one off just hides the tab. Nothing is deleted: any RSVPs, ticket sales, or sponsors already logged stay put, untouched, waiting for you. Turn it back on and everything reappears exactly as you left it.
Template-specific (dynamic) options
These behave very differently. Turning one on adds that option's tasks to the event — created and auto-assigned exactly the way tasks are at event creation. Turning one off deletes those tasks permanently, including any progress, notes, or checklist items on them.
Why the difference? The three fixed features each have their own separate place their data lives, so turning the tab off just stops showing it. A template option like Auction has no separate home for its data — the tasks themselves are the feature, so switching it off has to mean removing those tasks.
Before you turn one off
Only turn a template option off if that piece of the event is genuinely gone. Not as a quick way to tidy up your task list. If your team has already started on those tasks, turning the option off takes that progress with it. If you're not sure, leave it on — an unused task can just be marked done or left incomplete with no harm done, but a deleted task can't be brought back.
Workstreams work differently
Template options come from custom templates. Events built from an event type are made of workstreams instead, and those are added or removed from the Add a workstream card on the event's Settings page. Removing a workstream archives its tasks, so adding it back later restores them with their progress intact.
