Event status and what it locks
Every event carries a status, set from its Settings page. Most of them are just labels — one of them locks the event down.
The five statuses
Draft and Planning are both early-stage — use whichever distinction is useful to your team. Active means the event is confirmed and underway. Completed means it happened and is being wrapped up. Cancelled means it's not going forward.
Draft, Planning and Active events count as in flight, so they appear on the Dashboard's tiles, Runway and Event health. Completed and Cancelled events drop off it.
What Completed locks
Once an event is marked Completed, only its owner or the organization owner can still edit anything on it. This protects historical records — tasks, budget, RSVP numbers — from accidental edits after the fact. Everyone else can still view the event; they just can't change it.
Archiving applies this exact same lock regardless of status, which is why archiving and Completed are often used together at the end of an event's life. Cancelled doesn't lock anything. It only hides the event from members.
Who can still see what
A team member only sees events that are Active or Completed — draft, planning, or cancelled events stay hidden from them unless they created it themselves. Owners and admins see every event regardless of status.
